Buddhist Absolutes

Does craving lead to suffering,
or does suffering lead to craving?
Put like that, it’s wrong both ways.
My legs hurt just the same.

“Form is emptiness, emptiness is form.”
Has this been proven?
“A teaching beyond the sutras.”
What can they mean?

“Truths” and “Tasks” alike to the waste bin.
“Understanding” may be worse than confusion.
The flicker’s call says it all,
and already it’s yesterday’s news.

“Nirvana, right here, before our eyes.”
There’s a knot to sit with:
“Not this, not that,
not both, not neither.”
