The news of my imminent demise

is somewhat exaggerated. It is of course the case that the glass has been turned for each of us. It’s just that, with cancer, one gets more glimpses of the sand falling.

THAT IS TO SAY

Using a maritime trope, the pirates have swarmed over the bulwarks and boarded the ship. We have retreated to the quarterdeck, which we will defend to the last. We’re prepared for a long siege.

THAT IS TO SAY

While there is lots to do—a couple of books to finish, lots of stuff to clean up—there is time to do it. Or, well, some of it.

THAT IS TO SAY

It is ALWAYS good to prioritize.
Therefore,
I have begun a new book, working title: “How I Died.”
I’m hoping it will be a long book.
